UmWeltWandel Project

Project
University of Tübingen, University of Göttingen, Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz, Goethe University Frankfurt
The UmWeltWandel project ran from 2020 to 2024 and was led by a joint research group from Tübingen, Mainz, Frankfurt and Göttingen, coordinated by Conrad Schmidt from the University of Tübingen. It was funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) as part of its funding directive "Kleine Fächer – Zusammen stark". The aim of the project was to examine the environmental changes in northern Central Oman from the Neolithic to the 3rd and 2nd millennia BC and to reconstruct past human-environment relationships and anthropogenic landscape modification at a local scale.
