Kopula WERDEN

This data set comprises two rating data sets: a pre-study and the main study concering the selectional restrictions of the German copula WERDEN and their adjectival complements. 

For the pre-study, participants rated sentences with the copula 'sein' ('be') + controlled and uncontrolled adjectives + 'absichtlich'/'freiwillig' for their degree of controllability.

Subsequently, the best uncontrolled and controlled adjectives were used in the main rating study with the copula 'werden' ('become') to test for the claim that 'werden' selects for uncontrolled adjectives (Härtl, 2005).
